The debate has continue after Amakye dede crowned kuami Eugene highlife at VGMA 19, most people believe its a good move others also disagree with him but to make the situation worse is the Son of the former Highlife Legend Obibini Takyi jr, he believes kuami Eugene, Kidi, King promise and co are not doing pure Highlife.
Speaking to thisisgh.com the “Powder”hitmaker” said Most highlife legends like my late father and other are sad intheir grave because the generation have diverted into doing Afro pop but claiming highlife, ”
He added “I’m not bragging but I’m the only person doing pure highlife, I mean pure highlife ooooo”.

Obibini takyi Jr who started music professionally after he completed SHS and has served under Popular Ghanaian Actors kum Musicians Agya Koo, Kojo Nkansah Lilwin and Zack gh respectively at BossNation before he finally joined his uncles record label called “First Class Music” where he has recorded good songs and featured artist like Kofi Kinaata and Luther on different songs ,
he was desperate to become a good musician like his Father so he used to practice how to sing in school, church and public when he is mostly alone at home.
