“I was forced to crown Kuami Eugene as the King of Highlife” – Amakye Dede

Old-hand Ghanaian highlife musician, Amakye Dede has wildly alleged that he was coerced into crowning young highlife and Afro-beat singer, Kuami Eugene, as the future king of highlife in Ghana.

Speaking in an interview on Asaase Breakfast Show earlier this morning, Amakye Dede spoke candidly about the circumstances surrounding the crowning moment.

As claimed by Amakye Dede, it was not his desire or intention to bestow the title upon Kuami Eugene, indicating that external pressures influenced his decision.

“They forced me to crown Kuami Eugene,” he said.

Amakye Dede further disclosed that he had initially made an earnest attempt to make another person bestow the crown on Kuami Eugene.

Because he had initially adamantly refused to partake in the ceremonial act.

Nonetheless, circumstances eventually coerced him to proceed with the coronation, despite his personal reservations and reluctance.
