[ MUST READ] The uncovered sad story of Linguakat with Korle Bu Hospital

 

Many are tagged and stigmatized with disability by the society even when we hardly know the exact cause of it. Either from nature or from birth, and the story of Linguakat is a different one.

Multiple award-winning Ghanaian Reggae/dancehall artiste, Kweku Obeng Amoako well known on stage as Linguakat has finally unveal the unfortunate cause of his deformity.

“This happened in November, 1995 when I was hospitalized for two months at one of Ghana’s prestige general hospitals in the capital, Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. I was mistreated of broken bone therapy (Skin traction) instead of rheumatism treatment by a female doctor at Korle Bu teaching hospital and since then I have been living my life being stigmatized as a person with disability. I lost Many opportunities in life due to this condition and in an attempt for me to change this current condition, I have been asked to pay to this same hospital for my condition with an amount of thirty thousand Ghana Cedis(30000). This is unfair and the world needs to know.” He narrated.

“The irregularities in our health system have led many people living in pain because of the negligence and ignorance of a certain health care professionals. Many have lost families, loved ones and friends due to negligence and ignorance. It is time for us to curb these medical malpractices and stigmatization in this country” Linguakat added.

The Legendary Reggae/ dancehall artiste and song writer for over decades in the music industry has contributed in unearthing many mainstream artistes you hear today with his craft.

He has worked with Samini, Stonebwoy and wrote songs for Kaakie, Jade Sparkles, just to mention a few.

Linguakat is currently on a new project tagged “Feel The Pain”, a vision aimed at creating awareness and helping others who are voiceless, living with such conditions and neglected by the society.

The ‘Warrior’ hitmaker is two times winner of EMA awards as “Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year” and many other nominations to his credit.
