1. DJ OF THE YEAR
The DJ of the Year must be based in Ghana and have a national appeal, crossed borders and made the most impact in Ghana during the year under review. The DJ must have been nominated for any of the public or industry sections of PREMIER DJ awards. The nominees in the PREMIER DJ OF THE YEAR Category must be well experienced working in clubs, radio, mobile or other working fields of DJing.
2. MALE DJ OF THE YEAR
The Male DJ award goes to the DJ adjudged by the jury/board as the best male DJ for the year based on his extraordinary performance during the year under review. The DJ must be experienced in playing all genres of music such as Gospel, Afrobeat, RnB, Reggae, Hiplife, Highlife etc. The MALE DJ OF THE YEAR could be either a Night Club, Event, Radio, Mobile DJ etc.
3. FEMALE DJ OF THE YEAR
The Female DJ award goes to the DJ adjudged by the jury/board as the best female DJ for the year based on her extraordinary performance during the year under review. The DJ must be experienced in playing all genres of music such as Gospel, Afrobeats, RnB, Reggae, Hiplife, Highlife etc. The FEMALE DJ OF THE YEAR could be either a Night Club, Event, Radio, Mobile DJ etc.
4.MALE RADIO DJ OF THE YEAR
The MALE RADIO DJ OF THE YEAR Award goes to the DJ adjudged by the public and board/jury as the best male DJ on radio/air. The DJ must own a show on radio and will be Awarded base on his exceptional performance and engagements with fans/followers/listeners during the year under review.
5. FEMALE RADIO DJ OF THE YEAR
The FEMALE RADIO DJ OF THE YEAR Award goes to the DJ adjudged by the public and board/jury as the best female DJ on radio/air. The DJ must own a show on radio and will be Awarded base on her exceptional performance and engagements with fans/followers/listeners during the year under review.
6. GOSPEL DJ OF THE YEAR
The GOSPEL DJ OF THE YEAR will be awarded to the DJ adjudged by the public and the board/jury as the DJ who promoted at least 40/50% Ghanaian Gospel music exceptionally either on air or mobile DJing.
7. AFROBEAT/AFROPOP DJ OF THE YEAR
The AFROBEAT/AFROPOP DJ OF THE YEAR will be presented to a DJ who played and promoted 80% or more Afrobeat/Afropop on his/her shows either on radio or club and it’s considered by the public and the board/jury as an exceptional DJ and promoter of Afrobeat/Afropop, this DJ must be known by artistes and lovers of Afrobeat/Afropop genre during the year under review.
8. HIP-HOP DJ OF THE YEAR
The HIP-HOP DJ OF THE YEAR will be presented to a DJ who plays and promotes Ghanaian or Dispora HIP-HOP music on his/her shows either on radio, mobile or club DJing and it’s considered by the public and the board/jury as an extreme DJ and promoter of HIP-HOP, this DJ must be adjuded by artistes and lovers of Hip-Hop genre during the year under review, the DJ must be known for playing 60/70% of this genre by air or mixtape.
9.HIPLIFE/HIGHLIFE DJ OF THE YEAR
The HIPLIFE/HIGHLIFE DJ OF THE YEAR Award will be presented to a Radio DJ adjudged by the public and board/jury as one with exceptional visibility who plays and promots more of HIPLIFE/HIGHLIFE music in most of his/her shows being radio, Club or mobile DJing. During the year under review.
10.REGGAE/DANCEHALL DJ OF THE YEAR
The REGGAE/DANCEHALL DJ OF THE YEAR award will be presented to the Club or Radio REGGAE/DANCEHALL DJ who plays and promote the genre that is adjudged by the public and the Jury/board based on creativity in music presentation and visibility in the year under review.
11.MIXTAPE DJ OF THE YEAR
The MIXTAPE DJ OF THE YEAR will be awarded to a DJ considered by the board/jury as the DJ with the best audio mixtape based on creativity, sound quality, skill and public appeal released during the year under review, the mixtape must contain 50/60% of Ghanaian/local music.
12. STUDENT DJ OF THE YEAR
The STUDENT DJ OF THE YEAR award goes to the DJ adjudged by the public and the jury/board as the best student DJ for the year based on his/her performance during the year under review. The DJ must be a student with good outstandings reputation, that plays gigs in school and known among fellow students as an entertainer and a student of an institute/school under the year review.
13. MOBILE DJ OF THE YEAR
The MOBILE DJ OF THE YEAR will go to a DJ who plays all types of music ranging from Dancehall, Gospel, House, High Life, Hip Hop, Hip Life, Pop, RnB, Reggae, Electro among others and will be determined by the Jury/board as mobile DJ of the year due to his artistry and appeal.
14. CLUB/PUB DJ OF THE YEAR
The CLUB/PUB DJ OF THE YEAR goes to the DJ adjudged by the public and the jury/board as the best club/pub DJ for the year under review based on his/her performance during the year under review. The DJ must have a high crowd appeal and known among club/pub goers, owners in the country.
15. EVENT DJ OF THE YEAR
The EVENT DJ OF THE YEAR category will be based on the public and board/acamedy adjudication under the year review. This will be based on the DJs Performance in events and the expect knowledge of the jury, the DJ must play in some major events. The DJ must have a high crowed appeal and known amongst artistes, event organizers/ companies, events goers and cooperate world. The DJ must be associated with an official Event.
16 MC OF THE YEAR
The MC OF THE YEAR Category is adjudged by the public and the jury/board as the best MC of the year, under the year review based on his/her exceptional Performances. The MC must be associated with credible events, he/she must be known by DJs, the public and well associated with events and it’s organizers.
17 HYPEMAN OF THE YEAR
The HYPEMAN OF THE YEAR this award is adjudged by the public, Board/jury and academy. The Hypeman must have a high crowd appeal and known among credible events known by DJs, pub/club owners, attendees and events organizers.The individuals must be known as one who raves and turn up the crowd under the year review.
18. ARTIST DJ OF THE YEAR
The ARTIST DJ OF THE YEAR Category will be awarded to eligible DJ plays 70/80% gigs of the artist’s and is well known as the official DJ of the art and play most of his Performances/shows. The art must be a Ghanaian, this Category will determined on your Performances, artistry and the experience of the board/jury.
19 DJ/ARTIST COLLABORATION OF THE YEAR
The DJ/ARTISTE(s) COLLABORATION OF THE YEAR is the song adjudged by the Board/jury votes and the appeal by public as the song released through collaboration/featuring by a Ghanaian DJ and a musical Artiste(s). The song must be supported by public, popular in various entertainment medium such as clubs/pubs, radio and social media. The song must have been released and generated the most excitement during the year under review.
20 SCRATCH DJ OF THE YEAR
The SCRATCH DJ OF THE YEAR filing is via Video submission, the board/jury nominates based on a submission of three(3) minutes edited Performance video. Nominees will be nominated based on their knowledge, skill and expertise of scratch DJing, to be eligible/winner you must be either a battle, bedroom, club, pub, mobile or Radio DJ.
21 VIDEO JOCKEY OF THE YEAR
The VIDEO JOCKEY OF THE YEAR Category award goes to the VJ adjudged by the board/jury and award academy as most entertaining and creative VJ of the year based on his/her Performances during the year under review. To be eligible you must have a show aired on a TV Channel or an internet based video channel, the VJ must be experienced in playing most genres. The VJ could either be a club, mobile or television DJ.
22 DJs POPULAR SONG/CHOICE OF THE YEAR
The DJs POPULAR SONG/CHOICE OF THE YEAR will be exclusively voted for by the award’s academy, Board/jury, DJs and the public.
They’ll determine the song which is most popular among DJs, the public and music fans in Ghana and beyond.The song must have influence outdoors, clubs/pubs among fans/the public with a high appeal on radio and should be of a Ghanaian art under the year review.
23 RECORD PROMOTER OF THE YEAR
The RECORD PROMOTER OF THE YEAR will be adjudged by the academy, board/jury and public as the most outstanding music promoter on radio or off radio. The promoter must be associated and credible with heavily promoted projects at least one popular song that became a hit, must be known among DJs, the public and arts for exceptional influence under the year review
24 INTERNATIONAL DJ OF THE YEARS
The INTERNATIONAL DJ OF THE YEAR Award goes to a Hard-working DJ with DJing experience outside Ghana, he/she must be can be a Ghanaian or a non-Ghanaian
and must be favorite international DJ who works in club/pub or radio promotes and presents Ghanaian music to the rest of the world being an African, non-African country and world. He/she must at least play 10/20% of songs made by Ghanaian Artiste, mixtape DJs are eligible in this Category.
25 DISCOVERY DJ OF THE YEAR
The DISCOVERY DJ OF THE YEAR this award will be presented to an emerging or upcoming Ghanaian DJ with the skill and creativity in DJing he/she must have the appeal of the public. Winner will be determined by the public and Board/jury based on observation and their expert knowledge he/she being a promising DJ with a notable appeal under the year review.
26. SOUND COMPANY OF THE YEAR
The SOUND COMPANY OF THE YEAR award is adjudged by the board/jury, academy and the general public as the best and clear sound and directly responsible for mixing and technical sound productions of events, under the year review.
27. RADIO/FM HOUSE OF THE YEAR*m
The RADIO/FM HOUSE OF THE YEAR goes to the radio/fm adjudged by the board/jury and public with a high audience appeal, must run series of events, activities, experience conducted for on air promotion of music through DJing, and has shown evidence of an outstanding Performances in news, education values, current affairs, client effectiveness, information, entertainment, promotions and marketing etc under the year review.
28 CLUB/PUB HOUSE OF THE YEAR
The CLUB/PUB HOUSE OF THE YEAR award goes the club/pub adjudged by the board/jury, academy based and public appeal that showcase extraordinary expertise hospitality and entertainment, innovation in the club/pub nightlife, professionalism and creating an outstanding experiences as well setting standard for excellence to club/pub goers under the year review.

ZONAL DJ OF THE YEAR
The ZONAL DJ OF THE YEAR award is adjudged by the board/jury and public in the zone as the DJ with the highest audience appeal, event organizers and the general population he/she’s popularity is categorized in a zone in Ghana. The DJ(s) must impact a specific zone in a significant way the DJ must also play significant shows either on radio or mobile in that zone etc. The zones demarcation are as follows:
i. CENTRAL ZONE DJ OF THE YEAR
ii. SOUTHERN ZONE DJ OF THE YEAR
