Users of popular social media platform, Twitter now known as X, will soon be able to make audio and video calls on the platform without having to share their phone numbers.
This was made known by the owner of the social network, Elom Musk, in a post on the app today, August 31,2023.
According to Elon, the new feature will be available on the majority of platforms like iOS, Android, Mac and Windows, making it a game changer for good communication.
”Video & audio calls coming to X: – Works on iOS, Android, Mac & PC – No phone number needed – X is the effective global address book .That set of factors is unique,” he wrote.
The news, has sparked a lot of excitement and anticipation amongst X Users. Last month, Musk and his newly hired chief executive, Linda Yaccarino, announced the rebranding of Twitter as X, saying it would become an “everything app” inspired by China’s WeChat that would allow users to socialize as well as handle their finances.
